Challenge +

Building on the academy's commitment to meeting the individual needs of all students, the Challenge + strategy identifies those who have demonstrated high levels of academic excellence and have been recognised as having the potential to perform well above national standards. The Challenge + strategy ensures we are ambitious in our expectations of the most able students in the academy. By early identification of these students, we are able to monitor and track students' progress and engagement.

A close focus on this group ensures high ability students are provided with a stimulating curriculum, ensuring lessons and enrichment opportunities provide excitement and challenge. We are ambitious for all students in the academy but expect Challenge + students to demonstrate exceptional commitment and ambition in order to meet their potential, including as future leaders.
